Privacy Policy — Repvault

1. Introduction

Repvault ("we", "our", or "the App") is a fitness and nutrition tracking application developed by Arul Kumar (package: com.arulkumar.repvault).

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use Repvault on Android and iOS. Repvault is designed to work offline-first — most of your data stays on your device.

We do not operate user accounts or store your personal fitness data on our own servers.

2. Information We Collect

Data you provide or generate within the App is stored locally on your device unless you explicitly use an optional online feature:

Profile information: name, age, gender, height, weight, fitness goals, experience level, equipment access, workout frequency, dietary preferences, and allergies.
Workout data: workout plans, exercise logs, sets, reps, weights, rest times, and personal records.
Nutrition data: meal logs, calorie and macro tracking, and diet plans.
Progress data: body measurements, weight trends, and progress photos.
Profile photo: optional photo you choose from camera or gallery.
App settings: unit preferences, reminder settings, and optional API key (if provided).
Step count (optional): daily steps, only if you enable sync and grant Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) permission.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide App functionality:

Generate and display personalized workout and diet plans
Track workouts, meals, macros, and body progress
Calculate streaks, personal records, and daily summaries
Send local notifications for workouts, water, and streak reminders (if enabled)
Display step counts on your home screen (if sync is enabled)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Local Storage

Repvault stores data on your device using local databases (Hive) and the app's private document storage. This includes workout history, meal logs, measurements, and photos.

Uninstalling the App will permanently delete locally stored data unless you have exported a backup beforehand.

5. Optional Third-Party Services

Some features connect to third-party services only when you use them:

If you do not configure a Groq API key, the App uses rule-based plans and does not send your profile to Groq. Third-party services have their own privacy policies.

6. Device Permissions

Repvault may request the following permissions:

Camera: barcode scanning for food logging and taking progress/profile photos.
Photo library: selecting profile and progress photos.
Activity recognition / Health: reading step counts when you enable step sync.
Notifications: workout, water, and streak reminders.
Internet: food search, optional AI plan generation, and barcode lookup.

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Denying permissions limits related features but does not affect core offline workout tracking.

7. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties except:

When you explicitly use optional online features (Groq AI, Open Food Facts, Health platforms) as described above.
When you use the Export Data feature to share a JSON file via your device's share sheet — you control where that file goes.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
You can log out from the App to clear your session.
You can remove profile and progress photos individually within the App.
Use Export Data in Profile settings to download a copy of your data at any time.

9. Children's Privacy

Repvault is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will assist with deletion.

10. Security

Your data is stored in the App's private storage area on your device, protected by your device's operating system security. We recommend keeping your device locked with a passcode or biometric authentication.

If you store a Groq API key in the App, it is saved locally on your device. Do not share your API key with others.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because data is stored locally on your device, you can:

View and edit your profile and logs within the App
Export all your data as JSON via Profile → Export Data
Delete all data by uninstalling the App

Users in the EU/EEA (GDPR) and California (CCPA) may contact us for additional requests regarding data handled by third-party services.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
